School Operations Co-ordinator

Dunedin City - Otago

School of Midwifery

Permanent, 22.5 hours per week beginning January 2020

The School Operations Co-ordinator role is responsible for overseeing all operational and administrative functions within the School of Midwifery.

We are looking for a person who has significant operational/administration management experience including experience in leading a successful high performing team. You will also have experience in working with setting and monitoring of budgets, forecasting and financial reporting. This role requires highly developed interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a positive and productive team attitude.

Excellent skills in word processing, and competency with spreadsheet and database use is essential, as are multitasking skills, strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to manage time effectively. A tertiary qualification is required, to at least diploma level but a bachelor’s degree would be preferred.

Student Practice Co-ordinator

Are you a highly organised, committed person who is looking for a challenging role?

The Student Practice Coordinator role is responsible for the co-ordination, negotiation and securing of student practice experiences across all three years of the Bachelor of Midwifery degree and in locations around NZ.

We are looking for a person who has significant administration and co-ordination experience. This role requires highly developed interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a positive, pro-active attitude.

Excellent skills in word processing, and competency with spreadsheet and database use is essential, as are multitasking skills, strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to manage time effectively.  A tertiary qualification to at least diploma level but a bachelor’s degree would be preferred.

Occasionally there will be a requirement to do some evening work due to the availability of external parties.

Bioscience Lecturer

Dunedin City - Otago

School of Midwifery

Fixed-term until December 2020, 0.3 FTE

We seek a part-time lecturer to join our small and energetic teaching team for the 2020 academic year.  This position will involve both on-line tutorials and face to face teaching of the Bioscience in Pregnancy course in Year Two of our Bachelor of Midwifery programme.

Applicants will have an interest in midwifery education and hold a relevant bachelor’s degree including physiology and preferably hold a postgraduate qualification. Teaching experience, computer literacy and familiarity/experience with e-learning would be an advantage.

Applicants will possess research skills for accessing information, teach from an evidence based perspective and be willing to further develop skills in both on-line and face-to-face learning and teaching. The applicant will have proven communication and organisational skills.
